London based vocalist, songwriter, composer, and producer Emily Saunders hails from a musical family, so it’s no surprise that she has forged her own successful career in the world of jazz. As a regular live performer of her original music, the Emily Saunders Band can be heard in her self-produced, critically acclaimed albums, ‘Cotton Skies” (2011), ‘Outsiders Insiders’ (2015), and her upcoming release ‘Broken’ (2017).

Emily continues to tour throughout the UK, playing at top London venues (including: St James Theatre, Kings Place, Pizza Express Dean St Jazz Club Soho, The 606), as well as The EFG London Jazz Festival in 2014-2016, with a forthcoming lineup of festival appearances and gigs around the UK.

Emily’s music has sold worldwide with impressive radio play: Her recent album ‘Outsiders Insiders’ (all original music – composed, arranged, produced by Emily) was heralded as one of The Daily Telegraph’s Best of 2015. It broadcasts nationally on BBC Radio1, 2, 3, 4, 6 & XFM, JazzFM (playlisted) plus on radio stations around the world including USA, Japan, Australia, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Abu Dhabi, México. It has also achieved international iTunes & Amazon charts inc ‘Top 10’ in UK, USA, Germany, Indonesia, France.. Emily’s self-styled Latin Mix places a London twist on upbeat samba and Baião tunes, combining spirited grooves, driving basslines, sultry ballads, with splashes of Drum & Bass, 60’s soul jazz and playful textures, that invokes sunshine and an invitation to dance.

Mainstream press reviewers have loved her too, with multiple 4 star reviews including the Evening Standard, The Guardian, The Independent. With over 10.2k followers on Twitter, she has a significant and growing social media following.

Emily is also a radio presenter / producer with her shows The Voice Mix and The Latin Mix on JazzLondonRadio.com, plus regular slots on Australia’s Curved Radio (syndicated nationwide) and she is an events promoter for her organisation The Mix Productions (hosting regular “The Voice Mix” Live events). On top of all of this she now represents the wider jazz musician community on BASCA’s Jazz Executive Committee and as a Trustee Director of JazzUK.
